Terms and Conditions

1. Quotations

All quotations provided by The Hedge Barber are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Quotes are based on the information available at the time of inspection and may be subject to change if site conditions differ from those reasonably expected.

2. Scope of Work

Work will be carried out as outlined in the quotation or written agreement. Any additional work requested by the client that falls outside the agreed scope may incur additional charges.

3. Access to Site

Clients must ensure safe and reasonable access to the property for the duration of the works. This includes access to all areas where work is required and removal of pets, vehicles, and obstacles where necessary.

4. Health and Safety

The Hedge Barber reserves the right to refuse or cease work if conditions are considered unsafe. This includes extreme weather, unsafe structures, or hazards not disclosed prior to work commencing.

5. Waste Removal

Unless otherwise agreed, all green waste generated during the work will be removed from site and disposed of responsibly.

6. Payments

Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. The Hedge Barber reserves the right to charge statutory interest and compensation for debt recovery costs on overdue invoices in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Future work may be suspended until outstanding balances are paid.

7. Plant Health and Professional Care

All reasonable care will be taken when carrying out work. Professional horticultural practices are used to maintain plant health during and after pruning, hedge cutting, and topiary work.

However, The Hedge Barber cannot guarantee the future health, survival, or growth of plants due to factors beyond our control including existing plant health issues, environmental stress, pest infestations, or natural responses to pruning.

8. Plant Disease and Biosecurity

Reasonable steps may be taken to reduce the risk of spreading pests and diseases between plants and sites, including good tool hygiene and responsible working practices.

However, many plant diseases may be latent, airborne, or soil borne and may exist before visible symptoms appear. The Hedge Barber cannot be held responsible for the presence, spread, or development of plant diseases that were not known or visible prior to work.

9. Wildlife and Nesting Birds

The Hedge Barber complies with UK wildlife protection legislation. If active bird nests are discovered within hedges, trees, or shrubs during work, operations may be delayed or modified until it is lawful to continue.

10. Parking and Access

Clients are responsible for ensuring suitable parking and access for work vehicles and equipment close to the work area where reasonably possible.

11. Fragile Items and Property

Clients should remove fragile items including ornaments, pots, furniture, lighting, and garden decorations from work areas before work begins. The Hedge Barber cannot accept responsibility for damage to items left within working areas.

12. Underground Services and Cables

Care is taken to look for visible cables, wires, irrigation systems, and communication lines prior to work commencing.

However, The Hedge Barber cannot be held responsible for damage to concealed or undisclosed underground services including electrical cables, internet lines, irrigation systems, lighting cables, or pipework that are not clearly visible.

Clients are responsible for informing The Hedge Barber of the location of any known underground utilities or services.

13. Photography

The Hedge Barber may take photographs of completed work for portfolio or marketing purposes unless the client requests otherwise.

14. Insurance

The Hedge Barber holds full public liability insurance. Documentation is available upon request.
